What does ColicStop do?
ColicStop is a complete and unique 3 stage program designed specifically to
resolve the most common types of colic in horses; gas (tympanic) colic,
spasmodic colic, and impaction (atonic) colic. ColicStop is divided
into 4 different treatments in order to make it simple for you to use, and
to isolate the best, most effective treatments for each type of equine colic.
For example, Colic Stop 1, also called 'StopIt’ addresses the
pain of gas and ‘spasmodic’ colics most effectively. Spasmodic
colic is the most common type of colic in horses, with an incidence of over
70%. ColicStop “StopIt” contains rare and potent concentrated
anesthetic and carminative ingredients derived originally from herbs, as
well as natural ingredients that hydrate the intestines, increase circulation,
and break up painful gas bubbles. Often, the colic episode is ended with
one simple tube of ColicStop 1.
ColicStop 2, “SootheIt” relieves the intense pain of intestinal
distention which occurs during serious colic episodes. This helps keep
the horse on his feet, and prevents the rolling that is the result of colic
pain. Rolling can cause intestinal torsion to occur, which is a
serious medical emergency in horses.
ColicStop 3, affectionately named “Move It,” is a gentle laxative
and gut stimulant designed to treat the second most common type of equine colic,
impaction colic. “MoveIt” is designed to help soften and move
along impacted stools. It works synergistically with ColicStop 1 and 2,
which has prepared the system by increasing fluid in the intestines, breaking
up gas bubbles, and reducing pain in the stomach and intestines. If, as
is usually the case, the colic is stopped by the use of ColicStop 1 and 2, then
you do not have to give ColicStop 3.
ColicStop 4, also called the “CleanUp’ is used last to soothe
the intestines, and bind and remove poisons, toxins, parasites and inflammatory
or causative agents from the intestine. ‘CleanUp’ has many other
excellent benefits to the horse. It can also be used in the days after
a colic episode to hasten recovery time and help heal the intestine. Some
of our clients use it the day after worming with the standard antiparasitical
drugs, especially if their horses are sensitive to those chemicals. ‘CleanUp’ also
works as a regular part of a deworming rotation program. It has
a ‘physical’ rather than a chemical antiparasitic action, and
thus can help prevent resistance of parasites to antiparasitic drugs. See
the *instructions for use page* for information on how to use ‘CleanUp’ in
this application. This function of CleanUp is especially important in
colic prevention as well, since parasite infection is a major cause of colic
in horses.
‘CleanUp’ is also excellent for use as a preventative when colic
is threatened, such as when the horse ‘breaks into the feed room’ and
gets too much grain. Finally, there is something you can do
besides watch and worry!
ColicStop ‘CleanUp’ can also be used alone in cases of suspected
accidental toxin ingestion or poisoning in horses, dogs, cats and other domestic
animals. Given promptly, it will help to ’soak up’ the toxin
(such as antifreeze, strychnine, blister beetle, moldy feed, etc.) in the
intestine. It is very effective when given in these cases before the
poison has been absorbed into the blood stream. Many animal lives have been
saved, and much agony prevented, by caring animal owners who keep a tube of
ColicStop CleanUp readily accessible. All three of these treatments
are labeled carefully so that you can use them properly. (See
specifics on the instructions page for poisoning treatment.) |
